The Work and Respect Project

Career Guidance and Counselling in Nakuru

‘As a result of their socio-economic empowerment, youth with disabilities are participating fully in their community life.”

The Work and Respect Project is a 3-year regional project (2021-2023) implemented in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Rwanda. The project is being implemented by three Strategic Partner Organizations (Cheshire Disability Services Kenya, Cheshire Ethiopia, and National Union of Disability Organizations in Rwanda) and the Liliane Foundation as a technical partner. The project seeks to improve sustainable livelihood opportunities for youth with disabilities through inclusive technical training and transitioning to employment. In Kenya, the project is implemented in three counties; Kajiado, Nairobi and Nakuru targeting a total of 200 youth with disabilities who will be assisted to gain market-driven competency-based technical skills and transit to formal or informal employment in inclusive workplaces
