On February 14, Tangaza University College (TUC) Disability office joined millions of lovers from all over the world to mark Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event dubbed \u2018Valentine in the Dark\u2019 was marked through the Improving the Learning Environment at Tangaza project funded by Liliane Fonds that aims at creating an accessible environment to enable learners with disabilities to study, live, and operate independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The invite\u2019s only event with a red, white, and black theme attracted 70 participants\u2019 drawn from the management, teaching, and non-teaching staff and learners with and without disabilities from the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the ceremony, there was intermittent switching off of lights to allow participants to dive into the world of darkness like those with visual impairments. In the spirit of St. Valentine\u2019s, they were required to fall in love, get married and socialize in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was graced by Nancy Kamwera, a teacher and an advocate with visual impairments from Thogoto Primary School. In attendance were the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Apollinaire Chischugi and Brenda Kiema Disability Inclusion Officer among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
